"We must never be too busy to take the time to sharpen the saw." - Stephen Covey
We are taking time to sharpen our saw, and excited that the MaRCTech2 team will be part of WE United’s 9th Annual Leadership Development Summit, “Leading Beyond Limits”. It’s shaping up to be an inspiring few days, the kind of event that recharges you, stretches your thinking, and gives you both new tools and new connections.
What, When & Where
- When: October 7-10, 2025
- Where: The Balboa Bay Club, Newport Beach, California.
- Theme: Leading Beyond Limits
Who Attends
This is not just for one kind of leader. Whether someone is coming up through the ranks (a rising manager) or is already in senior echelons like VP / C-suite, this summit is built for people who want more impact.
Attendees come from across the electronics supply chain and from “technology-driven industries” (semiconductors, industrial, medical, automotive, etc.). The summit doesn’t limit itself to just “electronics”-in-the-narrow-sense but includes innovators, component suppliers, tech firms, people working where hardware meets software, etc.
What to Expect / What’s Great About It
Here are the parts we think will be the most powerful, and why:
- Neuroscience-based & human-centered leadership model. One of the distinguishing features is the emphasis on leadership that isn’t just about metrics, but about people, ethics, humanity, balancing profit and culture. Definitely something that resonates with us.
- Actionable insights + real-world stories. Keynotes, fireside chats, panel discussions, workshops, not just theory, but folks who’ve been “in the trenches.” We’ll get both the wins and the lessons learned.
- Peer collaboration & networking. One of the strong draws: being with others in similar situations, sharing what works, what doesn’t. Sometimes just hearing “Oh yes, me too” from someone in a different company can be surprisingly clarifying. Also mentorship opportunities, executive circles, etc.
- Focus on innovation & future trends. Digital transformation, AI, how leadership needs to adapt. For people in electronics, technology is changing fast. Having sessions about what’s coming — what leaders need to anticipate — is super useful.
- Leadership Certification. New this year: participants will earn WE United’s Leadership Certification. Seems like a nice bonus for professional portfolios and visibility.
Logistics to Know
- The schedule is segmented: there are days for “Ladies in Leadership,” overlapping segments for everyone, days for “Gentlemen in Leadership.”
- Weather tip: Newport Beach in early October tends to be lovely, highs around low 70s°F, lows in the 60s. But ballrooms can get chilly, so bring a sweater.
What Attendees Will Walk Away With
From MaRCTech2’s vantage, here’s what people should expect to gain:
- New insights into leadership styles — especially how to lead in tech contexts with empathy, ethics, adaptability.
- Tools for innovation & strategic thinking — how to anticipate disruptions (AI, digital transformation), how to embed innovative culture in teams.
- Broader network — peers, mentors, folks from other companies/parts of the supply chain who might become collaborators, allies, sounding boards.
- Renewed energy & vision — stepping out of day-to-day, rethinking what leadership “beyond limits” means. Often these events reset priorities in a helpful way.
- Certification & credibility — the official WE United Leadership Certification, plus the “brand” of having engaged with this summit, which helps internally (e.g., team leadership) and externally (network, stakeholders).
What We (MaRCTech2) Are Looking Forward To
There are some things in particular that our team is excited about:
- Hearing from leaders who have navigated scale or change in electronics supply chains; learning what worked and what didn’t, outside the “textbook.”
- Deep dives into AI / digital transformation: which strategies are paying off, which pitfalls to avoid.
- Meeting mentors and peer companies to compare notes: how people are integrating human-centered leadership and ethics in fast-paced tech operations.
- Coming away with some concrete initiatives we can pilot back home — maybe a leadership practice, or new ways of structuring teams, or more deliberate mentorship for rising leaders.
- Also, possibly, partnerships or collaborations — because when you’re in this space, sometimes the best ideas come from cross-company conversations.
In short, the WE United Summit looks like a high-value intersection of inspiration + practical learning + community. For MaRCTech2, it’s not just about attending, it’s about returning with fuel and plans.
