Calumet Electronics Company further positions itself as an industry leader in circuit board engineering for the Aviation, Space and Defense (ASD) sectors with its recent certification to the AS9100D international quality management standard. This certification is a testament to Calumet’s everyday commitment to serving mission critical industries that require high-performance PCBs. The AS9100D also forties Calumet’s position at the leading edge of manufacturing the highest performing printed circuit boards.

Calumet Electronics CEO Stephen Vairo notes, “Calumet Electronics has always been committed to providing our ASD customers with safe, secure and sustainable solutions. A big part of that is maintaining a rigorous quality management system. This certification is visible proof of our dedication to delivering the best, most reliable product to our customers, and the safest environment for our valued employees.

AS9100D is the most current standard. In order to earn the accreditation, a company that designs, develops, and/or produces ASD products must have a comprehensive quality management system that standardizes company-wide processes for delivering safe and reliable products.

The new revision D certification places a greater emphasis on product safety, counterfeit parts prevention, risk assessment and mitigation throughout the planning and operational processes. AS9100D also covers requirements for awareness of individual contributions to product quality, safety, and guides for ethical behavior.

All major aerospace regulators, including the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) have endorsed AS9100D. The standard provides manufacturing suppliers with AS9100D and is managed by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) based upon ISO 9001.
